This part of the site covers the activities that led to the creation of the Swansea Battalion and its training at Swansea, Rhyl and Winchester, prior to it departing for Le Havre and the Western Front in December 1915.

It spend its entire war service (December 1915 - November 1918) in either France or Belgium. The last few troops did not return home until May 1919.
